Apron systems for the New International Airport of Mexico City
Feb 2015 – 2018
Project scope:
92 contact stands
74 remote stands
41 cargo positions
68 maintenance positions
General Aviation apron
Military apron areas
Heliport
On an area of over 4400 ha., the new airport of Mexico City will be created.
In the initial phase of this project, a complete new airport for almost 70 million annual pax will be build.
While working for Deerns, I was responsible for a range of apron systems: Docking System, Pre-conditioned air, Ground power, Floodlighting, Grounding, Aircraft potable water, Aircraft waste disposal and Compressed air. Different solutions and locations had to be found to optimize the systems for the expected fleetmix and different platforms in the project. Not only connected and remote commercial platforms are part of the project, but also platforms for cargo, maintenance, general aviation and a heliport.
The design of the apron services is based on a high level of service whilst accommodating short turnaround times.
The project is currently in its tendering phase for the systems.
